The Lifesharing program’s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. The individual receiving supports is matched with a Lifesharing provider. The Lifesharing Provider opens their home sharing love and friendship. Being welcomed into a family provides the individual a feeling of support, safety and belonging.
Personal needs and preferences are considered in the process, on behalf of the individual and the provider. Lifesharing Providers comply with program policy, procedures and regulation which allows for and creates a safe and healthy environment.
Lifesharing Providers receive training and support from the Lakeshore Program Specialist and Director in addition to a generous stipend. Other benefits include the intrinsic reward of friendship and companionship.
